About Us

Who are we?

We are a passionate group of parents, guardians, extended family members, teachers, and administrators at the Barbara Jordan Elementary School

How do we manage volunteers?

We are closely aligned and intertwined with the Fort Bend ISD Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) program. All volunteers are vetted through the district criminal history background check process. We provide several opportunities to volunteer throughout the year and all volunteers are managed by our VIPS co-ordinator.

What do we do?

We collaborate to improve the educational experience for our students at Jordan Elementary. We take on various projects to support the school including fundraising for school needs, fun events, and parent engagement.

What are our benefits to you?

We provide an opportunity for parents to be more engaged with the school and build a stronger community. We raise much-needed funds for the school to help pay for items teachers need that benefit our student’s well-being and academic success. For example, in the 2022-2023 school year, we purchased coolers for students to use on field trips.

How do we benefit the community?

Our school is an essential part of our community. It is where our kids spend most of their time. It is essential for our school and our community to operate in a partnership so everyone benefits. We are the bridge between the school and the community creating that partnership and opening lines of communication between the school and our families as we work together to achieve common goals.
